Idlewild Co.
As is the case with many of our favorite brands, Idlewild Co. had humble beginnings. A small pop-up shop at the Renegade Craft Festival in McCarren Park, Brooklyn, to be exact.
Founded in 2010 by artist and designer, Katie Gastley, shoppers soon began to take notice of her work, notably her whimsically hand-painted Brooklyn neighborhood prints. And they asked for more. Custom orders slowly came rolling in, for wedding stationary and invitations… and so her brand, Idlewild Co. came to life. Gastley began to expand her offerings to include greeting cards, trinket dishes, hand-bound notebooks and more in the same dopamine inducing colors and graphic prints that have become, to this day, part of the Idlewild core identity. And the rest, as they say, was history!
