Brits & the Barn Jacket
A semester abroad in London can influence a lifetime of styling choices! Ask me? I've got the Brit barn jacket bug. (It's a serious thing! Promise.) Since my brief sojourn on the island of HRH, and my fond recollections of high tea afternoons and unmatched adventures aboard massive red double deckers, I've adopted a very British attitude to personal style that has become very much a part of my daily dressing ritual. The Brits - think Barbour, Pringle of Scotland, Burberry, Mulberry, Vivienne Westwood (I can go on...and on!) - are true masters of blending countryside cool with city prep, and making "heritage" the cornerstone of a cultural revolution. These fashion houses have decades of history standing behind their brand. They tell a story. Barbour, celebrating 120 years, has seen its waxed jackets, traditionally for shooting, evolve into a lifestyle brand. Classic, yet comfortable. Understatedly elegant. Beautifully functional. That's Barbour. And I'm sold. I wear my Barbour barn jacket with pride.
