Oscars Red Carpet Round Up - Top 10 Looks
Look #10 Actress: Anna Kendrick Designer: Thakoon LILA Says: Modern day princess, perhaps? Ms. Kendrick pulled off elegance with ease in her custom made coral silk georgette gown by New York designer Thakoon Panichgul. Though her choice of color was the quite the topic of contestation in the Twittersphere, we think she commanded the red carpet with a freshness and femininity that truly embodied the coming of spring. Look #9 Actress: Reese Witherspoon Designer: Tom Ford LILA Says: American actress and girl next door, Ms. Witherspoon, was a vision in this sweeping off-the-shoulder white with black accent details gown by Tom Ford. She carried herself with poise and understated elegance across the red carpet, in the spirit of old Hollywood glamour, radiating in a look that was so delightfully simple, it recalled the old adage "a little goes a long way". We couldn't agree more! Look #8 Actress: Scarlett Johanssen Designer: Versace LILA Says: Va-va-va-voom! This look is simply dreamy. Edgy, fashion-forward and sexy as hell. Johansson radiated in emerald in this curve hugging Versace gown - and just months after giving birth to her first child. What's even better? The necklace originally believed to be a separate statement piece is actually just an extension of this mind blowing dress. Johansson also sported a new Miley Cyrus inspired do and some pretty sparkly ear candy. We love the asymmetric earrings... how about you? A stunning and classic black gown with a little hint of sex appeal (can you say plunging neckline?) in just the right places. A Van Cleef and Arpels avant-garde diamond and sapphire necklace added the finishing touches to one of the nights most incredible fashion statements. It is safe to say that Ms. Robbie went with the mantra "less is more" and delivered just that. What says elegance better than a pearl? Perhaps 6,000 of them. The beautiful gown was custom made by Francisco Costa. It fit Ms. Nyong'o like a glove and sported both a plunging yet conservative neckline and an open back. As if the pearls didn't make the look decadent enough, it was accented with Chopard jewels. Up-and-comer Dakota Johnson, of recent "50 Shades of Grey" fame, turned heads on the red carpet in a fiercely flattering red gown by designer Saint Laurent. The Oscars novice, who was accompanied by mother, Melanie Griffith, smoldered in a crystal accented one-shouldered silhouette, Bally heeled sandals and matching metallic clutch. While her messy windswept ponytail added a little edge to her polished look. Ms. Johnson is certainly one to watch - and we can't wait see what she does next! Look #4 Actress: Jennifer Aniston Designer: Versace LILA Thoughts: America's sweetheart looked simply radiant in a champagne beaded Versace gown. Ms. Aniston was equal parts sophisticated and sexy, as she graced the red carpet with her signature California sun kissed locks and shimmery thigh-high slit. Photography courtesy of: Noel West/New York Times & Getty Images Look #3 Actress: Laura Dern Designer: Alberta Ferretti LILA Thoughts: This dress was made for the red carpet. Nothing says Oscar-worthy fashion like a sliver and black studded, strapless, curve-hugging gown. It was the dress that wow-ed us from the moment we set eyes on it. The detail, the dimension, the sparkle, we just couldn't get enough. Dern also sported that evening a Bulgari turquoise ring, in support of the American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE Initiative. LUNG FORCE, which is nationally presented by CVS Health, works to make lung cancer in women a public health priority, drive policy change and increase research funding. Style and substance - we love it. Photography courtesy of: Noel West/New York Times & Getty Images Look #2 Actress: Rosamund Pike Designer: Givenchy LILA Thoughts: This dress is glamour personified. It. Was. Simply. Unbelievable. The New York Apple Red color, the lace, the leg slit, the strapless neckline the tight waist. Pike looked looked incredible. Her soft bun and muted make-up only aided in accentuating what was a vision in crimson. The only jewelry Pike wore were some subtle diamond studs - but with a dress like that who needs any jewelry at all. Woman you killed it. Photography courtesy of: Noel West/New York Times & Michael Buckner/Getty Images Look #1 Actress: Naomi Watts Designer: Armani Privé LILA Thoughts: Wow. This look was a ten all the way around. Watts was scintillating in this gown. On a carpet full of solid-colored dresses Watts couldn't help but make a statement. We love it. We love the print, the sparkle the neckline but also the open back accented with a black sequin bandeau bra-lette. Watts let the dress speak by keeping her blond bob simple with just a little wave and her jewelry elegant but muted. We loved this look - because it was edgy, because it was different, because it was unique. This look was the surprise we were waiting for - and often as surprises do - it came last...
