Novelty prints have been strongly trending in the fashion sphere, but how do we take them from the runway to the real way, in a manner that feels organic and fits our personal style? How do we incorporate them into our everyday in a manner that looks chic, yet appropriate?

A flowing, bohemian style maxi dress or shift dress with a bolder print tends to be a style we can easily gravitate towards in the warmer summer months. With the heat seeming nearly unbearable as of late (and especially brutal if you're living in a city!), ease-of-wear in a garment is a non-negotiable. A loosely fitted silhouette and lighter weight, natural fabrics can certainly help to weather a heatwave. Light cottons or linens (though they can be more prone to creasing!) can also marvelously hold up in the heat. Though we love our long, breezy dresses, a light cotton kimono, loose jumpsuit and little shorts can also work wonders.

Standout pieces like the tribal printed dress we've styled in the video can so easily be complimented with a wide-brimmed sunhat or boater hat; a leather sandal, mule or espadrille and of course a basket bag, which is perfect for daywear but can also double as a beach bag. 

Although we do love the challenge of mixing prints (note the snakeskin mules we paired with the tribal print), you can also keep it simple by styling louder piece with more neutral accessories in muted tones. A classic, leather lace up sandal will work just as well as a patterned mule and subtler jewelry pieces can easily take the place of more statement tassel earrings.
